Meet Renée Crouser

Born in Panama City, Florida into a military family Renée Crouser has had the opportunity to experience many countries and cultures. Her joy for drawing and painting became evident very early on and turned into a spirited lifelong hobby.

Renée enjoyed seven years as a sign painter, a title held by few women, until she moved on to medical administration after the birth of her third child. When her father in law was diagnosed with cancer in early 2009, she quit her job to care for him. During this time, she found great comfort in her craft. After his passing, she dedicated her time to her art. In 2015, Renee made art her profession.

Inspired by human expression and connection in everyday life, her work has evolved through her own experiences coupled with a fascination with dramatic light. Renée paints with several media such as pastel, watercolor, pencil, and oil. Being a self-taught and independent artist allows her the liberty to express herself through them all. Renée attends various art groups to share information and techniques and strives to improve her skill with every painting.

“I’ve always thought in pictures. I interpret all life in color and translate it on to canvas, but I’m most drawn to the human experience and heartfelt connection. Art is not only my pleasure, it is my prayer.”

Renée is both a drawer and a painter. Her work is currently represented by the Gallery at Hood Street in McDonough and BarnBeautiful Studio in Stockbridge, GA. Renée is a resident artist at Studios at the Hood. She divides her time between there and her home studios in Georgia and Central Florida.
